Comments on the Military and Business Ownership
As a commissioned naval officer during the Vietnam Conflict, my experiences with team athletics helped me to adjust to the demands of damage control aboard ship, and helped me understand the importance of communications networks and chain of command. Most of this experience, taken collectively, amounts to discipline, and I believe my military service has prepared me well for making disciplined, well-thought out decisions.
